Called William last minute and he brought over every single thing we needed to enjoy a day of surf fishing: beach cart, rods (very good quality), cooler, tackle, and bait! We even caught a shark! What a great experience to be vacationing with family in the IOP. I really didn’t think it could get any better until I found out about Charleston Fishing Equipment Rental. William delivered to my driveway a beach buggy stocked with everything I needed to hook up that night including rods, freshly spooked reels, and a yeti full of mullet. It was great to get the family involved in fishing and we even caught a small shark behind where we were staying. Not only was William kind, and patient to answer all of my questions, he was also very knowledgeable when it came to fishing. I will be calling each time I am back in the IOP.

He even gave some places he recommended to go fishing at. Do not follow the address listed under Google as it is not correct. Just call the number listed and he will be back with you and get you what you need. He said he is working on correcting the address issue with Google but unfortunately it's taking some time. We were looking for a place to rental some poles and equipment for a day while staying in IOP. William was awesome! Very thorough in explaining what each pole was used for (we are amateur fishers), how to cast, bait, etc. my husband and kids enjoyed themselves fishing off of the boat and on land. He also gave us some tips on where to fish on the island. William also delivered and picked up the poles. Highly recommend him as your go to man if you need to rent fishing equipment. Thanks again! William, the owner, gave my 13-year-old grandson and I the best experience - far better than I had hoped. I rented a large house right on Folly Beach for a week from October 30 to November 5th. My grandson truly only asked for one thing in planning the vacation, and that was to try surf fishing. I didn't want to haul tackle and gear (to say nothing of buying gear I don't own) 600 miles each way. Our solution was William and Charleston Fishing Equipment Rentals. I got in touch online before we left and William said he would bring 3 poles and all the gear we would need for the week the day after we arrived.

As promised, he arrived bright and early our first day and William spent 45 minutes or more giving an amazing tutorial to my grandson (I of course didn't need the lesson but decided to listen as if I did... just to be polite). Then we talked for another 30 minutes about William's hunting experiences. It was truly a great morning and a good lesson.

So, during our vacation, we had a number of opportunities to walk out of our back door and fish. I was so amazed at my grandson having taken in every little bit of what he had been told. Several times I was told "Pop - William said...." and we went on to do it that way.

William gave us his cell phone number and encouraged us to call him anytime and if we caught something and weren't sure, text a picture and he would help us out. We only caught 1 small Weakfish which we easily identified with the chart we had been provided with our equipment. But what William gave me is way better than what we caught... hours on a beach with my boy, just talking!

It was a great experience. The equipment was in good shape and the lessons and advice were invaluable. We HIGHLY recommend giving them a call if you are in the area and want to try your hand at fishing for a day, or a week like we did.

William was very responsive and delivered all the gear we needed for my 12 yr old and I to be able to fish during our vacation on isle of palms. He spent time telling us where the local fishing spots were and he was east to deal with. He was also cheaper than the other places I called, who were out of gear.
